SESCI national website

Made in Alberta
This website is produced by Bruce Donovan. He
has a solar house near White Fox, Saskatchewan that he built in 1984. It
is a Passive Solar House and will be presented here with many of the
features that help make it a very efficient house to live in. Bruce is
on the executive of SESCI (Solar & Sustainable Energy Society of Canada Inc.) based in
Ottawa. He is on the executive of SESCI-NAC (Northern Alberta Chapter)
in Edmonton. He will have references to various Renewable Energy things
that he has become involved in. He bought a Smart Car a few years ago
and has been burning biodiesel in the Smart Car. His son Troy now has
the car and drives it to work every day. The Smart Car gets about 70 mpg
and is a very efficient car to run.
Bruce has moved to Sherwood Park and his main
thrust is doing webpages. You can see the webpages he has done at:
http://bruceconsulting.com/designed.shtml
He also fixes computers onsite with his son Sean. Sean's company is
called TechOnFoot and you can see it at:
http://techonfoot.com Sean registers domains and hosts
webpages for a very reasonable price.
On this website Bruce will post companies and
suppliers that have supplied him with the equipment needed to continue
with his solar endeavours. He bought a 110 watt solar panel and is using
it to charge 8 deep cycle batteries. It has been an interesting
experiment working with the batteries and solar collector. He runs his
computer full time with his solar panel and batteries and is trying to
get it to run the fan for his pellet stove in case the power is cut off
for a week in the cold of winter.
Being very involved with both societies he
will post things that are happening with SESCI and also Solar Alberta. SESCI-NAC puts on a Solar Seminar at the
Grant MacEwan.
